WWE Smackdown was not much successful at MITB PPV event. Raw had a clean sweep over them when it comes to the ladder matches.

If that was not enough, then Alexa Bliss stole the thunder by cashing in her contract on the same night. There are some positive points for the blue brand despite this. AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura delivered the best match of their rivalry.

We expect a fresh storyline to kick-off over the championship picture from now on. Daniel Bryan has also picked up a huge win that might pave new opportunities for him. Also, the Smackdown women’s champion has now received a pleasant surprise from her side that will make things interesting.

Tonight’s episode will continue things for the blue brand from the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio.

AJ Styles has retained his championship successfully against Shinsuke Nakamura for the fourth consecutive occasion. It means the stretched feud should be over by now. A new title storyline should kick-off for the Phenomenal One. We expect anyone from either The Miz or Samoa Joe to become the next contender for the WWE Championship.

A gauntlet match will take place on tonight’s Smackdown episode to determine the number one contender’s spot. Five men will compete in it. They are Samoa Joe, Big E, The Miz, Daniel Bryan, and Rusev. WWE.com confirmed the match with an official update on the website.

Nakamura, on the other hand, might go into the United States Championship picture. Last week, he delivered a low blow to Jeff Hardy resulting a disqualification to their first-ever match. The US Champion is likely to seek revenge on the heel superstar beginning a pleasant feud for the fans.

WWE fans were more than happy to see James Ellsworth back in the scene. This man has all the tools to entertain the audience. Plus he will ensure his presence will make sure Carmella’s title to be longer than ever. The question remains whether Asuka will get another shot to the title even after the MITB loss.

Daniel Bryan picked up a huge victory over Big Cass on two consecutive occasions. He is more than ready to go into the main event picture from now on. But the creative team might not be willing to do that. Instead, this feud should continue as per the future show advertisements. The storylines will advance setting up another rematch at Extreme Rules.

Another singles contest will also take place from the women’s division tonight. Becky Lynch will go one on one against Billie Kay. It looks like the Irish Lass-kicker is set to begin a feud against the IIconics.
