We witnessed a shocking end to this week’s edition of Smackdown Live as Baron Corbin failed to cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase. His timing turned out to be extremely wrong, as his Summerslam opponent, John Cena was still standing by the ringside and provided the distraction for him causing the WWE Championship opportunity.
The night went off the air with the Cenation Leader mocking The Lone Wolf for his failed attempt. The rivalry between these two has now become personal which will culminate at Summerslam.
Meanwhile, a huge dark match main event was stored for the crowd in Providence, Rhode Island. Once the cameras stopped rolling the tag team match was underway. Quite interestingly, it also witnessed a return in the form of a former world champion. It was Dolph Ziggler who came back after a hiatus for nearly one month.

The team of Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura took on the team of Rusev and the returning Show-off. Quite expectedly, the babyfaces picked up the win to send the fans in attendance home on a happier note prior to Summerslam. Orton connected with an RKO to Ziggler to pick up the win on behalf of his team.

This was not the only dark match of the night, as a six-man tag team match also took place prior to the main show of Smackdown Live. Sami Zayn, Tye Dillinger, and Luke Harper teamed up against the team of Mike Kanellis and The Ascension. The former team picked up the win.

Following Smackdown Live, on the 205 Live show, it was noted that TJP might have suffered an injury that did not allow him to compete on the Cruiserweight show. It is not clear yet whether he will have to be out of the WWE for a significant amount of time.
