WWE: What Transpired Once Smackdown Live Went off the Air: August 1st, 2017 1

The crowd was on their feet after witnessing a blockbuster main event on Smackdown Live that was a dream match.

John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura were given a standing ovation by the crowd after the latter one picked up the win and became the number one contender for the WWE Championship to face Jinder Mahal at Summerslam.

However, this segment was interrupted by Baron Corbin who arrived on to deliver a sneak attack on Nakamura. His intentions were not fulfilled, as Cena stood as a resistance against him. So, he was forced to face a super Cena who gained the upper hand in the brawl.

As seen in the footages on WWE Network, the chaos ended with John Cena connecting an Attitude Adjustment on Corbin through the announce table to close the show on a happier note. Both the main event competitors stood in the middle of the ring, once again before leaving the arena.

Nakamura wished his gratitude to the 16-time world champion on Twitter with the following posts once he headed to the locker room area. On the other hand, the reigning champion noted on his newer opponent for Summerslam.

In the dark match of the night, Randy Orton squared off against Jinder Mahal. It was earlier advertised as the title match but Jinder was in no mood to defend his title. So, in a non-title capacity, Orton went on to defeat Jinder Mahal. He took a sweet revenge on the reigning champion by hitting him with an RKO and picking up the win.

In another segment from the Smackdown fallout show, Lana and Tamina appeared to address the misunderstanding that they had last week in order to lose the tag team match. When it was thought that they have made it up, Lana challenged Charlotte Flair in a match, next week to create frustrations for Tamina.

In addition, Naomi vs. Carmella in a singles capacity was announced for next week’s Smackdown Live.
