Last night’s Smackdown Live main event witnessed a singles contest between Kevin Owens and the WWE Champion, AJ Styles in a non-tile capacity.
With Sami Zayn being on his side, Owens continued to keep the momentum by his side while ending the year on a good note. Via distraction, he picked up a huge pinfall win against Styles. So, it is evident that he will be getting a title opportunity, sooner.
Once the main show was over, the heels engaged in a more significant battle in the dark match stored for the Chicago crowd. As an addition, Daniel Bryan acted as the special guest referee where six prime superstars from the blue brand competed in a huge tag team match.
Jinder Mahal teamed up with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to take on the babyface team comprised of AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Randy Orton. Styles picked up the win on behalf of his team to send the crowd home on a happy note. He alongside Daniel Bryan received a huge pop from the crowd doing the ‘too sweet’ gesture in the middle of the ring.

Another dark match was stored before the Smackdown show. Mojo Rawley was seen competing his former best-friend, Zack Ryder. He was able to defeat the Long-Island Iced Z dominantly to continue his good run.
However, he was not seen on the main show for two consecutive weeks which is not a good thing for his career.

AJ Styles was seen in the Smackdown fallout show who was frustrated after Shane McMahon interfered in the match causing the distraction. It is the reason why he came up short against Kevin Owens who will now continue his pledge with a title opportunity in the future.
