WWE Wrestlemania 34: Result from The WWE Championship Match 1

The pro-wrestling universe had never thought in their wildest dreams that this WWE Championship match would ever happen at Wrestlemania.

When it comes to the global pro-wrestling industry, AJ Styles is considered to be the very best. He is the benchmark athlete in today’s wrestling world. Only one name in Japan had given him a tough day whose name was Shinsuke Nakamura.

Ever since both these men came under the same banner of Smackdown Live, the rumours started flying around as to when we would see the inevitable match, someday.

The road was paved after AJ Styles won the WWE Championship at the end of 2017. After that, it was just a matter of time that Nakamura would enter the picture, too.

It happened by the virtue of the Royal Rumble win by The Artist, this year. Just after the match, he confirmed this saying that the reigning WWE Champion would be his target at Wrestlemania. It set up the dream match at the biggest event of the year, for the fans.

Shinsuke Nakamura got a grand entrance before AJ Styles showed up. These two stared down each other before starting off the match. The WWE Champion delivered an early knee-to-the-face on Nakamura to capitalise earlier in the match. Afterwards, a snap suplex was delivered to Nakamura.

The contender was right back into the contest delivering a backbreaker. The WWE Champion put his opponent in a headlock, but it quickly released, as Nakamura countered the manoeuvre. AJ Styles managed to hit a running knee on the mid-rib of Nakamura to put him down, momentarily.

The pace of the match picked up, as AJ went for the Styles Clash, but he was unable to hit it. Later, he connected with the Styles Clash, but Nakamura kicked out of it. Styles went for a 450 splash which was countered, too. Two men traded punches when Nakamura gave a back suplex and called for the Kinshasa. But, it was amazingly converted into a Styles Clash by the WWE Champion to retain the title at Wrestlemania.

After the match, Nakamura hit Styles with a low blow to turn into a villain which none saw coming. Nakamura continued stomping away to Styles to end the segment on an interesting note.
