WWE is approaching the busiest season of the year that revolves around WrestleMania 37. Once they kick-start the new year, plenty of options have to be nurtured around the Show of Shows. They haven’t really booked anything past December 20th’s TLC pay-per-view, internal talks must have been done eyeing that particular night of the year.
WWE has reportedly wanted The Rock to make a return to the company to feature in the main event of WrestleMania 37. This could be the reason why they have built Roman Reigns as a top heel of SmackDown. This is a real main-event caliber match that could steal the show, set to happen at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California in the month of March.

But there’s no confirmation available on whether The Rock would be available for WrestleMania 37 or not. If that is the case, then the company already had another option figured out for that event. According to WrestleTalk, WWE had considered running another Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reign on that night if they can’t secure The Rock.
It should be noted how everyone enjoyed the match that Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre put up, at Survivor Series 2020 in November. It was also clearly noted that it wasn’t the last time that these two have crossed paths. So a rematch could be on the card at WrestleMania 37 where the two top superstars from Raw and SmackDown could lock horns.
Another option is available for WrestleMania 37 where Roman Reigns could end up facing Goldberg for the Universal Championship. These two were originally booked for a fantasy Spear vs Spear contest, this year. But that match couldn’t happen as Reigns went into a hiatus. Goldberg also wants that match to happen and hence WWE has to make some secondary arrangements.
Ringside News reports that The Rock wants to make a WWE return on the occasion of WrestleMania 37, but his outside commitments continue to be a big bar for that to happen. Also, he will only return if a live audience becomes a part of the scenario. Vince McMahon and The Rock are still in touch “in case” the situation changes. But as of now, there’s no such positive update is available on The Rock’s return.
