Wrestlemania 39 match card will shape up in the coming weeks especially now that Royal Rumble 2023 is over. Being a marquee attraction on the WWE roster, Ronda Rousey is almost certain to receive a top match on that night. At one point, she was speculated to compete against one of her best friends but that’s not the case, anymore.
Ronda Rousey has currently been enjoying a ride as a heel on the SmackDown roster. As a two-time women’s champion on the blue brand, Rousey got the full license to showcase her full heel side with Shayna Baszler by her side. This hinted at the two possibly sharing the ring at Wrestlemania 39 but now the company is heading in a different direction.

Ronda won’t face Baszler at Mania
There was a rumor going on that Ronda Rousey was going to face none other than Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 39. While they have been teaming up on Smackdown, the expectation was that there would be a turn-on from one of them to make the match happen. But that won’t be the case.
According to a recent report from Xero News, that rumor is false. The plan revealed for Ronda Rousey was to face Becky Lynch in a long-awaited singles match at WrestleMania 39. No word was there whether this match will involve the SmackDown Women’s Championship, as Rousey has already lost her Title to Charlotte Flair.

Lynch vs. Rousey uncertain to happen at Wrestlemania 39
In more updates from Wrestling Observer Newsletter Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that WWE has no plans for Rousey vs. Lynch to happen at Wrestlemania 39, at this point,
“Right now that is not the plan. The rotation is in different places. I don’t know what Ronda or Becky’s match is. But, as of today, this morning, it was said to me that it was very unlikely. It’s definitely not the plan right now.”
Only time will tell whether Rousey vs. Lynch singles match could become a reality at Wrestlemania 39 after a long wait of more than four years. It was originally scheduled to take place at Survivor Series 2018, but Lynch got injured before the event and got replaced by Charlotte Flair.
Later in the main event of Wrestlemania 35, Becky pinned Ronda to win both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles, but it was a triple-threat encounter as Charlotte Flair was also involved in the match.
