Will Ospreay is on board with All Elite Wrestling for the past few weeks and he will be competing in a big match on next week’s AEW Dynamite. In a dream match capacity, Ospreay and Shibata have been announced to go one-on-one in just a second-time-ever matchup in their career. This would also be the first time since 2017 that the two will square off inside the squared circle. This match will also build things up for Ospreay vs. Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynasty on April 21.
This week on AEW Dynamite, Ospreay laid out the challenge to Shibata during an in-ring promo, noting that Danielson and Shibata put on a pro wrestling clinic during their outing on last week’s Collision. Ospreay said that as he prepares to wrestle Danielson, it only feels right to take on Shibata in a wrestling match that would bring the best out of him. Shibata and Ospreay last wrestled at NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka in February 2017 with Shibata clinching the win in that bout.

Swerve Strickland has also been added to next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, with the top contender to Samoa Joe’s AEW World title taking on Konosuke Takeshita. The AEW Tag Team Title tournament will continue on the show with a quarterfinal matchup between The Young Bucks and Private Party.
