WWE programming had a solid build toward the latest premium live event waiting in the calendar in the form of Payback 2023. Both Raw and Smackdown superstars were seen performing at the upcoming PLE while it was safe to assume that the undisputed WWE universal champion Roman Reigns will be missing the show to leave the main event spot open to grab for others.

The Judgment Day is currently the hottest faction in the WWE on the Raw brand and the group had a quick rise to prominence over the course of the last year. With their dominance growing on the Raw brand, WWE rightfully made them the poster figure of the Payback 2023 PLE. It might also indicate the happening around the faction from the upcoming event.

While Judgment Day stayed strong despite differences in opinions, the never-ending turmoil seems to be intact within the group. With Damian Priest holding the Money in the Bank briefcase and Finn Balor gunning for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, they seem to be not on the same page. There could eventually be an explosion between them as well as for Judgment Day at Payback 2023.

Payback 2023: Things were planned to blow up for Judgment Day at WWE PLE

With Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio, Mr. Money in the Bank Damian Priest, and Finn Balor prominently featuring on the poster of Payback 2023, speculations were on about WWE possibly having plans to break up the heel faction at Payback 2023. But ultimately, the faction remains strong by winning the undisputed WWE tag team titles.

In recent times, there has been tension between Damian Priest and Finn Balor. The so-called leader firmly believes that Priest is the reason he failed to win the World Heavyweight Title at Money in the Bank and SummerSlam. The two are seemingly at odds and who knows how Balor would be acting when Priest eventually decides to cash in the MITB contract.

The general belief is that it’s just a matter of time before the two come to blows and that could very well be happening at Payback 2023 premium live event that takes place on Saturday, September 2 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
