Since his return at WWE Hell in a Cell 2022, Cody Rhodes acted as the top-most babyface figure on the Raw roster. In the absence of major star power, his appearance and the feud against Seth Rollins acted as the top program for the entire post-Wrestlemania 38 season. That has to end with an unfortunate injury.
Prior to Hell in a Cell 2022, Cody Rhodes suffered a torn pec but he still wanted to compete in his scheduled match against Rollins inside the HIAC structure. Eventually, the Prodigal Son ended up winning the match after spending inside the cell for over 20+ minutes. Thus, he ended his feud with a clean sweep of 3-0 in WWE premium live events.

Now, the expectation is that Cody Rhodes will be out of action for around 6 months. After his impressive Hell In A Cell performance, the top Raw Superstar will have to undergo surgery. Fightful Select reports that a surgical procedure will be performed, this Thursday. Several notable WWE stars have suffered the same injury and missed anywhere from three months to five months.
“Sources near Rhodes state that as of this morning, Cody Rhodes is slated to undergo surgery to repair the torn pectoral muscle this Thursday.
Notable pectoral injuries in pro wrestling included Triple H (5 months out), Elias (5 months), Hiromu Takahashi (6 months), and John Cena’s miraculous recovery in less than 4 months.”

Cody Rhodes may not return to TV in 2022
Cody Rhodes indicated on this week’s WWE Raw that he could be ready to be back in action within next month’s Money in the Bank PLE. But in reality, we are not likely to see him on TV for the rest of 2022. Chances are high that he would be back in time for Wrestlemania 39. However, things could be preponed if he recovers, earlier than expected.

Rumors about Cody Rhodes’ injury started after he was removed from a WWE live event in Champaign, Illinois on June 4, just a day before Hell In A Cell 2022 event. Seth Rollins faced Drew McIntyre instead of his current rival. Many fans then speculated about the situation and whether he would be able to compete at this weekend’s premium live event.
Then just hours ahead of Hell In A Cell, WWE confirmed Rhodes suffered a torn pectoral muscle while training last week. But being adamant to perform inside the demonic structure and since he couldn’t do further damage to the situation, WWE allowed him to compete.
