Ex-Man UTD superstar and Chelsea target could be heading to Old Trafford soon

It has now been confirmed by reports from the Italian media that Premier League giants Manchester United are trying to bring back their former midfield superstar Paul Pogba to Old Trafford. The Red Devils are keen on signing both the 22 year old France international and Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, according to claims from Tuttomercatoweb. Manager Louis van Gaal had made his intention of winning titles quite clear prior to the start of the new season and previously tried to add Pogba to his side, as he looked to strengthen his squad, though a deal did not go through back then.

Also the Manchester based side might look to sign the Juve boss as well, as a future replacement for the Dutch manager and it seems that the Frenchman has asked his agent Mino Raiola to make the move happen if Allegri does indeed leave.

The midfield superstar is quite keen to carry on working with the Italian and the two share a really good relationship at the Italian giants, after winning various titles in the recent seasons

If Pogba does return to Manchester, it will be a huge boost for the club, who have looked much better this season and are currently title contenders in the league to say the least.

It will be interesting to see whether the deal does indeed go through or not and under what conditions, though there is no doubt that the French player is one of the most wanted stars in the European continent at the moment.

Shocking: A Liverpool superstar to leave for La Liga giants

It has been now stated that La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are both looking to sign Liverpool’s attacking midfield superstar Philippe Coutinho and might make offers to sign their target soon. As confirmed by Le10Sport, the Brazilian international could be tempted to leave Anfield in case the Reds do not qualify for the Champions League in the current campaign. Things have really improved at the Merseyside, since the arrival of new boss Jurgen Klopp after Brendan Rodgers was sacked, yet a top four finish seems to be the key to keeping the 23-year-old attacker with the Premier League outfit it seems.

The superstar winger has a tally of five goals and three assists in a total of 16 appearances this season already and is currently attracting the interest of Europe’s top clubs, who are keen on signing him.

There is no doubt that the play-maker would surely command a massive fee if Klopp does look to cash in on him and he is allowed Coutinho to leave the club anytime soon.

Both the Spanish giants would know that he is surely one for the future and will have to battle it out for his signature, till a deal does indeed go through.

On the other hand, Liverpool will try their best to keep hold of him and the way the league is going on at present, there is every possibility of them finishing in the top four as well, which could possibly mean that he would be going nowhere.

Twitter reactons: Fans rejoice as Arsenal starts December in style

Arsene Wenger’s side hosted Sunderland at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon, in order to keep their challenge for the Premier League title alive and going, if they secured all three points. Early in the day, Manchester City had gone down 2-0 to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium, which meant that the north London giants could have gone above them with a win on the night. There was no doubt that the Gunners were not having the best of times in the league and had gone three games withouth a win, which made it essential for them to win this one. Wenger was keen on getting his side back to winning ways, with some must-win fixtures coming up in the next few weeks. The Frenchman knew that his side must travel to Greece in mid-week and beat Olympiacos by a couple of goals, if they wish to go through to the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Joel Campbell opened the scoring in the game, as he gave Wenger’s side the lead in the 33rd minute of the match, before France international Olivier Giroud scored an own goal towards the end of the opening 45. Two of the most unlikely scorers for each side, as the first half ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

However, after the break the French striker scored on the Londoners to give them the lead on the 63rd minute. His team-mate Aaron Ramsey furhter added a third towards the end of the game, to ensure that they took back all three points from the game, as the match ended with a 3-1 scoreline.

Here are some of the Tweets made by the fans about the win:

Real Madrid kicked out from Copa del Rey for playing Russian forward who is Man Utd target

It has been confirmed now that La Liga giants Real Madrid have been knocked out of the Cop del Rey competition, in the most shocking manner. The elimination did not come due to a loss, instead came due to the fielding of the suspended Denis Cheryshev against Cadiz. The Russian winger was not supposed to play the game on their travels, after being banned when on loan at Villarreal in the previous campaign. However, he started the match, scoring before being taken off early in the second half, in his side’s 3-1 win over their opponents.

In a press conference on Thursday, club president Florentino Perez spoke about this whole matter and told the media, “The one-match ban for three yellow cards in our view is not effective because no-one has notified the player as specified in item 41.2 of the Disciplinary Code of the RFEF.”

Further, after the game, head coach Rafa Benitez also talked about this issue and insisted that it was not his biggest concern ahead of their game with Getafe as he stated, “The president has made things clear. That is the truth, and there is nothing more to say on our part,” Benitez said, with his team trying to build on last weekend’s 2-0 league win at Eibar.”

“The president has already explained the situation. We are here to speak about the Getafe game. Everything that happened was clear. I will not go into these issues.”

If they do get eliminated now due to this silly error that was made, it would be quite embarrassing for the Bernabeu-based side and it would be quite interesting to see who takes the blame now.

Madrid, however, look certain to appeal the ban in CAS (court of arbitration). It will be interesting as to how this saga will play out in next couple of weeks!

Arsenal gets a boost with two stars returning from injuries

Arsene Wenger’s side have now received a boost prior to their clash in the Premier League against Sunderland at the Emirates, as two of his first team players might be all set to return in the game against Sunderland, as per claims. It seems that center-back Laurent Koscielny and striker Theo Walcott might have recovered from their injuries and could possibly make it to the starting eleven in the game at home, if the French manager really needs their services. The north London side are once again in the middle of an injury crisis, which might cost them the chance to challenge for the league title and see them get possibly get knocked out of the Champions League, if they do not beat Olympiacos in Greece by a margin of two goals, when the two sides meet soon.

In a recent press conference, Wenger spoke on the injuries within his squad and revealed that the duo could both be available on time, before confirming that England international Kieran Gibbs is back to full fitness after missing the last game against Norwich City.

Speaking in his interview with Arsenal.com, prior to the clash against the Black Cats, the Frenchman stated, “We will make a decision on Saturday on Koscielny and Walcott, they could both make the squad. Gibbs is available again for the weekend.”

The Gunners have a long injury list once again at present, which includes star players like Tomas Rosicky, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin, Mikel Arteta, along with the midfield pair of Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla, who were both injured in the 1-1 draw against the Canaries this past weekend.

Confirmed: Chelsea fan banned for three years for racist comments

It was confirmed recently that Jordan Munday, a Chelsea fan was involved in blocking the Frenchman from boarding the Paris Metro in February this year, along with some other supporters of the west London club as well.

The 21 year old Munday was part of a group of fans, who stopped Souleymane Sylla from boarding a train prior to the Premier League champions’ clash against Ligue 1 holders Paris Saint Germain in Europe’s top cup competition in France. There was mobile footage suggesting the same and a horde of Blues’ fans clapping and singing, ‘We’re racist, we’re racist and that’s the way we like it’.

The CCTV footage showed that Mr. Sylla was repeatedly trying to get on to the train at Richelieu-Drouot station, but was being pushed back every single time.

Munday was banned from attending football matches for three years in July due to this incident, but appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court to appeal against the order.

Prosecutor Adam Clemens told the court, “Quite properly you are entitled to say that this sort of event needs to be marked with an order so that similar travelling fans know do not get the impression that this sort of behaviour will not be acted on.”

The court reviewed the video footages once again and the result was not in favour of Munday, whose ban was not removed and it has stood for now, though there was every effort to prove otherwise.

His attorney, Alison Gurdon, however did once again retaliate on the fact that her client had been used as a scapegoat and did not deserve such a harsh punishment, yet nothing eventually worked.

Tight pay roll may force Barcelona to sell stars

La Liga giants Barcelona might now be forced to sign one of their high profile superstars in the near future, it has been recently reported. The reigning Spanish and European champions have been superb last season, winning the treble and have been quite well in the current campaign as well. Barca recently destroyed their fierce rivals Real Madrid in the league and their domination in the Champions League has also been worht praising. Despite that, the wages of some of the world-class superstars just might be too much for the club to keep paying on a regular basis.

According to the Daily Mail, it was stated that the issue could soon a major problem and the Catalan club might have to sell off one of their star players in the near future.

The stars in the forward line like Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez have huge wage packets at present, with the other members of the squad, a fair bit above the minimum wage as well.

The wage bill is at present‘crippling the club’ and is at 73 percent of total revenue that the club is making, which is huge for any top side in today’s world.

Also, the prize money for winning Europe’s top competition last season, meant that various bonus pay-outs had to be issued out to many of the players in the team.
The club is now looking for a new shirt sponsor and a sponsor for their stadium as well, in order to make more profits after the payments have been made to their stars.

Further, if they fail to find new ways of making more money soon, Messi or Neymar might be sold, with previous and current reported interests from clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City.

The English giants could be locked in an intense battle to acquire their targets soon, yet which one of them eventually leaves the Nou Camp or they both stay, remains to be seen.

Six Alex Ferguson backs former Manchester United defenders to succeed in Spain

It was recently confirmed that Gary Neville had accepted the job to manage La Liga giants Valencia, with his younger brother Phil all set to assist him in his work at the club. The news came as a surprise to many, who did not expect to see the former Red Devils’ defensive superstar in such a role any time soon, though he has had a lot of success as a player and has been quite a knowledgeable pundit as well and was in recent times with the England national side. Further, the first team coach of the Three Lions will now be in charge of the Spanish outfit till the end of the current campaign at least.

His younger brother Phil has been coaching at the Primera Division club since July and will now work along with the 40-year-old right-back in Spain.

The fans have had their say in the whole situation with mostly positive reactions to it, yet one man whose opinion would surely matter in this case would be their former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, backing his two former players, the ex-United manager stated, “Gary has many attributes that suggest he will be successful in management. His leadership skills are strong, he’s honest and he’s hard working. He is the type of character who is not afraid of making big decisions, which is a vital skill when leading.

“I think he’ll do well and I wish him, and his brother Phil, good luck.”

Manchester United legend Gary Neville talks in his first press conference as Valencia manager

Ex England and Manchester United right-back Gary Neville was named the new manager of La Liga giants Valencia recently, along with his younger brother Phil named as his assistant. The duo will now look to
handle things at the Spanish outfit till the end of the season at least and can hopefully make a difference with the club currently at 9th place in the league table in Spain. Both the brothers were in Manchester as
players during the Sir Alex Ferguson era and have seen a lot of success during their time with the Premier League giants.

It would be quite interesting to see what kind of a difference the duo can now make in the style of play at the club and whether they can get the desired results or not in the upcoming days.

Gary spoke to the media about quite a few topics, earlier in the day and he started off by saying, “We have big games coming up and at the moment the most important thing is to win games regardless of style.”

“I’m very aware of the traditions and how they play.”

“The only way to approach a football job will be as if it’s a permanent job.”

“My family will move over to Valencia. I want to show commitment to the city & immerse myself in the culture.”

“My girls finish school in Manchester in two weeks and move over to Valencia.”

“When I received the call on Sunday evening, I thought what a club, what an opportunity, what a challenge.”

“Sitting on television, talking about coaches for these last few years, the time had come for me to stand up.”

“Spanish will be my biggest challenge. I will take lessons every day.”

“If Phil wasn’t here I would want him here. He’s diligent, hard-working – I’m delighted he’s part of the set-up.”

“We don’t do niceties and we talk about actions and what we’re going to do.”

“In terms of advice Philip and Angulo form part of the coaching team – it certainly won’t be a dictatorial approach.”

“I’m not going to insult Valencia by telling them I’m coming over here and playing football like Manchester United.”

“Every coach has to play attacking football and defensive football but the challenge I have is to win.”

Further talking about the upcoming fixture against Barcelona, he stated, “We decided earlier in the week it was too soon, too unprofessional to come in the day before.”

“When I spoke to Roy Hodgson he was incredibly supportive and he understood completely the opportunity for myself.”

“I want people to know that Valencia is my priority 95-99% of the time.”

“We all have ambitions, we all have dreams.”

“We’ve all seen inexperienced coaches succeed and experienced coaches fail. There is no magic formula.”

“I only know one way & that is to expect to win every match. It’s the absolute minimum expectation of every fan.”

“The fans here are demanding but they should be demanding. It’s a fantastic football club.”

“I have confidence in myself and my understanding of the game. My belief is strong.”

“I talked to him (Fergie) afterwards and he gave me words of encouragement and support.”

“When I played here it was a horrible place to play for the opposing team. I’ve seen how intimidating it can be.”

“I think a coach or a player talking about anyone other than the people at this club would disgust me.”

“It’s easy to make decisions on young players too soon. I’m very patient.”

Manchester United look to make a move for Arsenal midfield target soon

Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United side are looking to make a move to now sign 18-year-old Belgian central midfielder Youri Tielemans from Anderlecht, it has been reported now. The youngster is currently one of the brightest talents in the continent and has attracted a lot of interest from various top clubs in Europe this season. Apart from the Red Devils, Serie A champions Juventus and Premier League giants Arsenal have also been keeping tabs on him in order to acquire his services and the young midfield superstar is expected to leave Belgium in the near future as well.

Though the Manchester based side already have the likes of Schneiderlin and Herrera, who are undoubtedly high-quality players, if the move does go through indeed Tielemans would be the perfect fit with the trio forming a formidable partnership for the years to come.

Also, if the move to Old Trafford would be completed it would mean that his compatriot Marouane Fellaini’s career with the club would be all but over.

The former Everton man has failed to impress under Van Gaal, who replaced former boss David Moyes, who bought him from the Toffees.

The Dutch manager has other options whom he rates more highly and Tielemans’ move to Manchester, would Fellaini further down the pecking order.

It would be interesting to see what kind of an impact the move has on the Dutchman’s side, if it goes through, as the United manager is quite keen to challenge for titles in the current campaign.
