It was the 10th game of the 2003 ODI World Cup (Group Stage), where the Sri Lankan left-arm pacer Chaminda Vaas showed his dominant bowling performance from the very first ball of the game.

After Sri Lanka sent the Bangladesh side to bat first, Vaas claimed a hat-trick after taking three wickets on the very first three balls of that game. At that moment, he dismissed the opener Hannan Sarkar, Mohammad Ashraful and Ehsanul Haque all for the golden duck.

While Bangladesh was all out on 124 runs (31.1 overs), Vaas finished the game with the bowling figures of 9.1-2-25-6. Later, Sri Lanka chased down that target in 21.1 overs without losing any wicket.
