New Zealand captain Kane Williamson again maintained his form in the big tournament. In the 2019 ODI World Cup, Williamson finished as the fourth most run-scorer as the right-handed batsman scored 578 runs in nine innings with an average of 82.57.

Williamson hit two back-to-back centuries and two half-centuries in that tournament, including his best knock of 148 runs against West Indies at Manchester on 22nd June 2019 (in the League Stage game). New Zealand’s most run-scorer in that tournament, Williamson played a crucial role for his team to finish as the runners-up in that tournament.
