4. Subramaniam Badrinath:

Last year, in August, Tamil Nadu cricketer Subramaniam Badrinath retired from cricketer, ending his short career in international cricketer. The player is from the time when India had a strong batting order containing Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, and Rahul Dravid.
The swashbuckling cricketer had continuously impressed with his bat in domestic cricket. He was the mainstay of the Tamil Nadu sides that reached the Ranji Trophy finals in 2002-03, 2003-04 and 2011-12.
He got the chance to feature with the team after Sachin Tendulkar surfaced with an injury ahead of the Sri Lanka series in 2008. Badrinath remained unbeaten to lead India to victory. However, he might further not get many chances in international cricket.
Badrinath found success with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2011, making 396 runs in 13 innings, including five fifties and six not-outs, at an average of 56.57 and strike-rate of 127. He was part of CSK when the franchise won back to back the title in 2010 and 2011.
However, selectors dropped him from the ODI side and picked for Tests. With compact middle-order, he hardly got a chance to break into playing XI.
Unfortunately, because of his poor show, he was dropped from the team.
