Curtly Ambrose, who was a furious fast bowler for the West Indies team at 90’s, hits back to the West Indies critics with few bouncers. Ambrose is currently the consultant of West Indies bowling.
West Indies will play 3 Test matches against Australia in Australia starting from Thursday. Before the starting of the series, West Indies lost against Cricket Australia XI by 10 wickets in a four-day warm-up match.
After the disappointing warm-up performance since their landing in Australia, many experts criticized to the Caribbean team. Most of the experts predicted that this series would be one sided and Australia would easily win the series.
Recently Australia is in a very good form. They recently beat New Zealand by 2-0 in the 3-match Test series. Despite the retirement of Mitchell Johnson and injury of Mitchell Starc, Australia is looking enough strong to beat this inexperienced West Indies team.
Yet Ambrose thinks different. He believes that this West Indies team can beat the hosts. He said that critics will look silly and helpless if they beat Australia in this series.
He said, “At the end of the day, when we perform and we beat Australia, the reporters will have to change their tune. We’re here to do a job and we’re going to make a good job of it. Being here alone should be more than enough motivation for the players, but having heard all those comments should be ideal motivation for them.”
Ambrose said that they will surprise everybody during this series. He concluded, “We’re going to do well, we’re going to do much better than you think.”
Earlier, David Warner told that they won’t mercy to the Caribbean team in the upcoming series.
