The Indian national cricket team is ready to begin their journey in the three-match home Test series against South Africa. Recently, India got a big blow as Jasprit Bumrah will miss this entire Test series, starting from 2nd October. Due to the minor stress fracture, Bumrah will miss out this whole Test series.
Former left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra faced many injuries during his professional cricket career. He is very much aware of many injuries. Recently, Nehra has clarified that the bowling action and stress fracture are totally unrelated to each other. Nehra further added that Bumrah could bowl with the same attitude after recovering from the injury.

Nehra recently told PTI, “Stress fracture is unrelated to action and we must get our concepts clear. He doesn’t need to change his action and if he tries to do that, it won’t be great. Let me assure you when he comes back, he can bowl with same action, intensity and pace.”
Jasprit Bumrah’s action is 10 times better than Lasith Malinga – Ashish Nehra
Ashish Nehra further added that Bumrah’s bowling action isn’t highly unconventional. Also, Nehra believes that Bumrah has far better bowling action than the Sri Lankan pace bowler Lasith Malinga.

Nehra added, “His action is not that unconventional as it is made out to be. The alignment of his body at the time of delivery is perfect.
“The only aspect that is not copy book is his left hand (works like a pivot), which doesn’t go up. Even then, his action is 10 times better than Malinga. Malinga’s knees, back leg bends giving a look of a javelin thrower.”
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hasn’t clarified Bumrah’s returning time in cricket. Ashish Nehra has claimed that stress fracture recovery has no time frame.
Nehra claimed, “In case of stress fracture there is no time frame. Jasprit might feel good in next two months and may not feel good even after six months. So only the player knows when his body is feeling cent percent match ready.”
Nehra also spoke about the recovery process from this stress fracture issue.
He said, “Stress fracture doesn’t have medication. It’s only proper rest and rehabilitation unlike disc injury or any nerve tissue injury.”
Bumrah will come back stronger and the pace in his deliveries will remain intact
At the end of that conversation, Ashish Nehra believes that Bumrah will come back stronger in the national team after recovering from the injury.
