Virat Kohli’s shocking revelation about the lack of clarity for Rohit injury and availability has become a huge talking point. Several former cricketers have not appreciated the miscommunication between the board and captain. Ashish Nehra has also responded, stating that it is disappointing to know that there was no exchange of information between Rohit and Virat.
The 32-year-old Virat shared his thoughts while addressing the media ahead of the ODI series opener between India and Australia, on Friday, during the virtual press conference.
Ashish Nehra responds to Virat Kohli’s comment:
Former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra wasn’t impressed with the lack of communication between Kohli, Rohit and the BCCI. He stated that either Rohit or Kohli should have taken the first step to update each other.
“Both of them should have talked it out. Virat is the captain, hence, he could have picked up the phone and enquired with Rohit. Similarly, Rohit could have spoken to Virat. This is very disappointing and if there will be lack of communication in 2020, then how will things work?,” Ashish Nehra said.
'Rohit और Kohli के बीच communication ना होना काफ़ी दुःखद'

Kohli had revealed that he was expecting Rohit Sharma to travel with Team India from UAE to India but the reason for his return to India was not clarified to him.
“Before the selection meeting, we got a mail that he is unavailable, that he has picked up an injury during the IPL. It said that the pros and cons of the injury were explained to him and he understood and he was unavailable. After that (the selection meeting) he played in the IPL and we all thought he would be on that flight to Australia and we had no information on why he is not travelling with us. There has been no information, there has been lack of clarity. We have been playing the waiting game,” he added.
Following Kohli’s comment, BCCI issued on their official website that Rohit Sharma will go under fitness assessment test on December 11 after which it will be decided whether the opening batsman will be available to play Test series against Australia.
