Kevin Pietersen

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen was one of the greatest cricketers and talented batsmen of the England cricket team. Pietersen was born in South Africa and even made his first-class debut for Natal (presently known as KwaZulu-Natal), a reputed South African domestic side.
However, the young Pietersen wasn’t impressed with the racial quota system in South African cricket and raised his voice against that practice. Later in 2000, Pietersen decided to move to England as he has an English mother.
Starting his cricket career as an off-spinner, Pietersen was also useful as a hard-hitting lower-order batsman. But in the English County cricket, Pietersen evolved as a batsman after impressing with his outstanding batting performances to become one of the renowned cricketers.
Pietersen made his international debut for England in 2004, and soon he became a very crucial player for this side. Despite facing some controversies in his late international career, he successfully served for England till 2014.
Pietersen played 104 Tests, 136 ODIs and 37 T20Is, where the right-handed batsman scored 8181 runs, 4440 runs and 1176 runs respectively. In his international career, he also collected a total of 18 wickets. He was also a member during England’s victory in the ICC World T20 2010, where he won the Player of the Series award after finishing as the second most run-scorer in that tournament (248 runs).
