Dublin-born Eoin Morgan started his international career for Ireland in 2006. Apart from participating in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, Morgan continued his service for Ireland till April 2009, where he appeared in 23 ODIs.

But then he wished to serve for England, which was his dream since childhood, to experience Test cricket and earn more opportunity in international cricket. As his mother is English, Morgan has held a British passport since his birth.

In the 2009 English summer, Morgan made his international debut for England and played both the limited-overs formats in that summer.

In 2010 home summer, he made his Test debut. Though he only managed to appear in 16 Tests till 2012, he has evolved as one of the greatest batsmen in England’s limited-overs history.

Not only as a batsman, but Morgan is also a successful captain of the England ODI and T20I sides. While England just missed out to win the ICC World T20 2016 under his captaincy, as they finished as the runners-up, England also won their first-ever ICC Cricket World Cup trophy in the 2019 edition under his leadership.

Morgan is the most run-scorer for England in limited-overs cricket history. He has played 318 international matches for England (16 Tests, 213 ODIs and 89 T20Is), where the left-handed batsman has scored 9462 runs. He is listed among those cricketers.
