Mohammad Azharuddin

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin was not only the greatest batsman of the country, but he was also a successful captain of the nation. While his international career ran from 1985 to 2000, Azharuddin played 99 Tests and 334 ODIs where the right-handed batsman scored 6215 runs (average 45.03) and 9378 runs (average 36.92) respectively.
Azharuddin’s international career ended after he was found to be involved in a match-fixing scandal in 2000. While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) soon imposed the life-ban on him from cricket, but in the 2010s, the ban was finally lifted.
In 1987, Azharuddin married Naureen. But in 1996, then Indian captain divorced his first wife and married the Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani. However, according to the media reports, Azharuddin-Sangeeta marriage was also ended in a divorce.
