Present Bangladesh T20I captain Mahmudullah is a very talented all-rounder as he is currently the no.9-ranked (jointly) T20I all-rounder. He is a responsible middle-order batsman as well as effective off-spinner, who can successfully play the finisher roles in both duties.

After playing 214 T20s, Mahmudullah has scored 3873 runs (average 24.98; strike-rate 120.61), including 13 fifties, and he has also taken 102 wickets. Out of these matches, the present Bangladesh T20I skipper has played 87 T20Is, where he has scored 1475 runs (average 24.18; strike-rate 122.81) and taken 31 wickets.

Though the 34-year-old Mahmudullah has experienced Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Caribbean Premier League (CPL), he is unlikely to experience the IPL in future.
