Cricket is a bat-ball game where there is an intense competition between the teams. The game with high intensity is an absolute visual treat to the supporters especially when there a batsman and a bowler goes one on one against each other.
Although the bowler chips in with good bouncers to deceive the batsman, not everyone would want to see their team player getting hit on the head. Though a high-quality bouncer is appreciated by fans, a nasty bouncer is not a pleasing sight to witness.

This reminds us of the 2014 incident when Australia’s Phil Hughes was struck on the back of the beck by a nasty bouncer while batting for the West End Redbacks during a Sheffield Shield match against New South Wales at the Sydney Cricket Ground on November 25, 2014.
This unexpected accident resulted in the demise of the cricketer.
David Warner recalls the incident of Steve Smith getting hit on the head
A similar incident occurred during Ashes 2019 when Steve Smith got hit on the head by a ball bowled by England’s high-quality pacer Jofra Archer.
Soon after taking the blow, Steve Smith immediately laid down on the pitch. This very incident caused fears and anxiety to the entire Australian national cricket team.
Australia opener David Warner spoke about the recently released documentary of Australian cricket team titled ‘The Test’ on Amazon Prime Video.

“When I saw him go down, we were all just like not again, not. Please it cannot happen,” said David Warner recalling the incident of Steve Smith getting hit on the head during the second Ashes Test at Lord’s Cricket Ground in 2019.
Steve Smith got hit twice on the fourth day of the second Ashes Test match against England. Smith had picked the first blow on the elbow and then on the neck. He fell down after Archer’s bowling and was attended by physios from both England and Australia.
Steve Smith came through with flying colours in the Ashes 2019 as he created a new record of scoring 774 runs in four Tests of a series and equalled Sunil Gavaskar’s tally.
