Former South African captain Faf du Plessis feels doubtful about the future of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020. However, the 35-year-old has suggested one idea which can help to organise the upcoming T20 World Cup on time.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 has been scheduled to run between 18th October and 15th November 2020. Australia will host this seventh edition of the T20 World Cup. However, the coronavirus pandemic, which has already postponed many cricket matches, has opened up the doubtful future of the up T20 World Cup. While the International Cricket Council (ICC) is still hopeful about this tournament, many cricketers have now started to feel doubtful about this tournament.

I am not sure: Faf du Plessis about the fate of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020
As travelling is going to be a big issue at least for the next few months due to the coronavirus, Faf du Plessis is unsure about the fate of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020. However, he feels that the two weeks isolation before and after that tournament can help to open up the possibility to organise the upcoming T20 World Cup on time.

Faf recently told the Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal, “I am not sure… reading that travelling is going to be an issue for lot of countries and they are talking about December or January. Even if Australia is not affected like other countries, to get people from Bangladesh, South Africa or India where there is more danger, obviously it’s a health risk to them.
“But you can go in before the tournament (for) two weeks isolation and then play the tournament and afterwards two weeks isolation.”
A total of 16 teams will participate in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020. So, many feel that it will be very tough to gather all these teams in October-November for the T20 World Cup while many countries are still battling to handle the pandemic. Though the ICC is still hopeful about this tournament, they are also setting up some other plans in the case of postponement of this tournament.
Faf is also unsure when his country South Africa will lift the travel ban.

He added, “But I don’t know when South Africa will open their travel ban because we can’t go there like old days on boats.”
