ToggleOn Thursday (6th February), Rajasthan Royals had faced a massive blow as their premier bowler Jofra Archer was ruled out of the upcoming season. It is a huge set back for the franchise ahead of the IPL 2020. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) informed that the promising prospect is suffering from a stress fracture in the right elbow.
After playing the first Test against South Africa in December, last year, he went back to the United Kingdom as he has nursed sore in a right elbow. Having done some tests, ECB confirmed that he is suffering from a stress fracture and will go under a rehabilitation programme.
Last year, Royals finished second last on the points table of IPL 2019 but this year it will be more difficult for them to compete. The franchise will surely find a replacement for him but very few can deliver like Archer.
Here are the five replacement options for Jofra Archer in the Rajasthan Royals’ squad
Alzarri Joseph:

Last season, the West Indies bowler made the debut in the cash-rich league for Mumbai Indians (MI). Unfortunately, after just playing three matches, he went on to miss the tournament because of the shoulder injury. Though he had an impressive outing in his debut match against Sunrisers Hyderabad where he went on to pick six wickets while conceding just 12 runs. Thus, it is the best bowling figures in IPL history.
Currently, the player is fit and is representing his country. Like Archer, Alzarri Joseph can clock at 145 kph. Talking about his figures in T20s, he has scalped 24 wickets at an economy rate of 9.43 at the strike rate of 16.71 in 19 games.
Pertinently, his stats also include one five-wicket haul and four-wicket haul respectively.
Recently, his performance against Ireland in the 50-over format was commendable. Seeing his impressive performance, Rajasthan can reach out to Joseph for the upcoming edition.
