Well, the millions of the Indian fans must be feeling a bit relieved when ultimately, Team India led by MS Dhoni, won their last ODI againat Bangaldesh in Dhaka yesterdey. Though this win does not really contain any bearing as Team india had already lost the series when Bangladesh thrashed them out in both of the ODIs played earlier.

As a result of this poor show, the Indian ODI captain MS Dhoni, became the target of an all round severe criticism. Although, our bowlers tried hard but the batsmen of Bangladesh proved better. Likewise, our batsmen failed to resist the impact of some outstanding quality bowling by the Bangladesh. In any case the team work, coordination, and particularly the team spirit among our boys was clearly not seen.

Already there were a hell lot of speculations circulating around envisaging the unhealthy atmosphere in the dressing room of Team India. Interestingly, two the prominent members viz Suresh Raina and R Ashwin have already extended their full support in favor of skipper MS Dhoni.

However, the captain of the Indian test team and one of the key batsman of the Team India has reacted in a rather different manner and has clearly pointed out towards a directionless leadership for the damage.

Kohli said, “Credit goes to the Bangladesh team for the way they have played. We are not expressing ourselves like we normally do and are used to”.

On a different note, it is a well known fact that Virat Kohli and team director Ravi Shastri prefer to adopt an aggressive and attacking kind of game play.

While Kohli has stood by Dhoni in these testing times, the team has worn a dejected look in the ODI series. But the recent performance of the Team India in ODIs, that too against Bangladesh, has surely weakened the morale of our boys.

Perhaps this very bitter ground reality became the reason of Kohli’s outburst when he was asked why the series has panned out the way it has, Kohli did not hesitate to say, “Not too happy with the way we have played. We have been sort of doubtful in our decision-making and that shows on the field.”

Furthermore clarifying his stance more bluntly, Kohli asked “I don’t need to say it in an interview; our cricket watchers and experts can see it (that) our guys are not sure enough to express themselves. In the first two games, we failed to express ourselves with clarity of mind”.

No doubt this appears to the agony of losing against a team standing much below in the ranking but at the moment this becomes a noble duty of one and all to ensure solidarity at the time of this big crisis. I simply do not dare to comment or interpret the statement given by Kohli but a million dollar question popping up in the minds of millions remains the same: What about our own individual contribution? And what this kind of division will lead to? There are other ways and means/ platforms to review the situation.

Whatever the case may be, the contribution and integrity of MSD is far from any doubt. He has given so much to the Indian cricket. Honestly he deserves much more then what he is being given, a hero must be treated as hero, come what may!!!
