While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is busy to organise the delayed IPL 2020 between September-November 2020; the two-time IPL-winning captain Gautam Gambhir feels that the upcoming IPL tournament will be the biggest till the date and he also gave the reason for that claim.

On last Monday (20th July), the International Cricket Council (ICC) officially postponed the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 due to coronavirus pandemic, which Australia would host between 18th October and 15th November 2020.

Since then, the BCCI is working hard to sort all the panning properly for the IPL 2020. The IPL Governing Council Chairman Brijesh Patel has recently claimed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can host this tournament between 19th September and 8th November 2020.

IPL 2020 is going to change the mood of the nation: Gautam Gambhir

The former two-time IPL winning Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Gautam Gambhir doesn’t care about the hosting venues of the IPL 2020 in this coronavirus pandemic, but praised the UAE as he believes that it is a great venue to play any format.

Gambhir thinks that the upcoming IPL edition will be bigger than ever because it will help to change the country’s mood. At present, India is struggling to control the coronavirus pandemic.

Gambhir told Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’, “Doesn’t matter where it goes but obviously it goes to UAE, it’s a great venue to play any format and plus most importantly it is going to change the mood of the nation. It’s not about which franchise win, which player score runs, which guy takes wicket, it’s just changing the mood of the nation. So, this IPL probably will be bigger than rest of the IPL because I think this if for the nation.”

Gambhir was the KKR captain when the UAE hosted the first half of the IPL 2014 (shifted due to Indian general election). While India hosted the last half of that tournament, KKR won their second IPL title after beating the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by three wickets in the thrilling final.
