The two-time World Cup-winning former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has recently returned to the deputy coach role of the Australian national cricket team for the forthcoming Cricket World Cup. He played the same role last year.
Since his joining as the assistant coach, the national players have gained huge motivations. Recently, Australian limited-overs captain and opener, Aaron Finch claimed that all the national players wanted to impress Ricky Ponting.
Finch claimed according to cricket.com.au, “The boys all want to impress ‘Punter. Everyone wants to impress Punter, you should see them – it’s like eight-year-old girls around Justin Bieber when Punter’s around the changeroom. It’s embarrassing, but it’s great.”

The 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is less than ten days away to begin. England and Wales are set to host this 12th edition of Cricket World Cup from 30th May to 14th July. A total of ten teams will participate in this competition.
The record five-time World Cup winners Australia is ready to feature in this tournament as the defending champions. Australia will start their journey in this Cricket World Cup on 1st June when they will face Afghanistan at Bristol.
Ahead of their new Cricket World Cup journey, Australia will play two warm-up matches. On 25th May, Australia will play their first warm-up match against the home team England at Southampton.
Later, on 27th May, Australia will play their second pre-World Cup warm-up match against Sri Lanka at Southampton.
