After touching down in the United Kingdom (UK) on May 21, Team India led by Virat Kohli has started off their preparations in the lead up to the impending ICC World Cup 2019. The multi-nation tourney will begin with England-South Africa game on Thursday (May 30 in London.

However, the second-ranked ODI team Men in Blue has had their first session in Southampton before Well, in the first warm-up fixture India will take in New Zealand at The Oval in Lond on May 25, before facing Bangladesh at Cardiff on May 28.

On the other hand, India is set to play its World Cup opener on June 5 against the Proteas at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

In a brief video uploaded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Twitter handle, Kohli was seen trying to hit the ball straight.

Moreover, MS Dhoni, alongside Shikhar Dhawan, has taken part in the training session in particular. Also, Jasprit Bumrah was seen enjoying his timing on the field.

Also, apart from the customary drills, the players were involved in proving their mettle while playing soccer.

Meanwhile, with a week away from the kick-off of the competition, India has covered all their bases. Also, the eyes will be on crucial No.4 spot which is expected to be filled by Tamil Nadu all-rounder Vijay Shankar.

Also, the players have shared a laugh with Yuzvendra Chahal aiming to improve his fielding.

The Team India members had trained hard under the tutelage of head coach Ravi Shastri. The players were seen sweating it out in the nets to prove their credentials in the forthcoming quadrennial event.
