Jan 9, 2020 at 8:46 PM
On Friday (10th January), the hosts India will face the visiting side Sri Lanka in the third and final T20I of this series at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (Pune).
The hosts are currently leading this series by 1-0 with the last game to go. The series opener at Guwahati (5th January) had no result due to the rain interruption, while India comfortably won the next match of this series at Indore (7th January) by seven wickets (with 15 balls remaining).
Here is the predicted XI for India for the upcoming Pune T20I.
KL Rahul
As a limited-overs opening batsman, KL Rahul is in great form. In the last five T20Is, he played four 40+ scores, including three half-centuries. His return in the form is one of the best pictures in the present Indian cricket.
Shikhar Dhawan
It’s not that the left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is not in the form, but the fans are missing the old fearless Dhawan which can bring the solid start for the team. While his strike-rate has gone down, he is losing his set wickets in the crucial time.
Virat Kohli (C)
The Indian captain Virat Kohli is currently the leading T20I run-scorer, but he is in a great form for the long-time in every format. The stubborn cricketer always looks for his best performance in every circumstance. Kohli is surely desperate to win this first series of this year.
.
Shreyas Iyer
When Shreyas Iyer is getting enough time to bat, he is hardly disappointing the team management and the Indian cricket fans. The right-handed batsman is in good touch with the bat, and the team management is looking at him as the future of the team.
Rishabh Pant (wk)
The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is in continuous test at the present moment. Though many are directly supporting this youngster, he needs to perform consistently in both batting and wicketkeeping to strengthen his place in the national side.
Shivam Dube
The all-rounder Shivam Dube has recently played consistent limited-overs matches for India but has gotten very limited opportunities to perform. Though he has impressed with his initial performances, he needs to prove his consistency in this golden opportunity.
Washington Sundar
The young off-spinner Washington Sundar became the first T20I wicket-taker in the new decade. He is very economical who can maintain this image even in the powerplay. The 20-year-old is learning and growing up like a bowling all-rounder.
Shardul Thakur
The right-arm pacer Shardul Thakur is trying hard to perform with the ball. While he was wicketless in his first three overs in the Indore T20I, he scalped three wickets in his last over of that game. Thakur needs to perform consistently with the ball to secure his place in this national team where the huge fight is currently running.
Jasprit Bumrah
The right-arm pacer Jasprit Bumrah finally returned to the cricket through the last game. Apart from his last three balls (conceded three fours), Bumrah bowled very well in that match and picked up a wicket. His last match performance brought huge confidence to the captain.
Navdeep Saini
Once again Navdeep Saini impressed with his bowling performance as he won the Player of the Match award in the Indore T20I. In that successful game, he had the bowling figures of 4-0-18-2 which hugely helped the hosts to restrict the visitors under 150 runs.
Kuldeep Yadav
The left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav was the most expensive Indian bowler in the last game. However, he also took two wickets as his bowling figures in that game was 4-0-38-2. Many are desperate to watch the old Kuldeep Yadav who always put the batsmen in trouble.
