The 28-year-old right-arm pacer Deepak Chahar is the most wicket-taker for India in T20I cricket since his T20I debut as he has taken 17 wickets in just 10 T20Is. During this period, no other Indian bowlers have managed more than 16 wickets despite playing more T20I matches.

Chahar is currently holding the record of best T20I bowling figures (3.2-0-7-6), which he achieved on 10th November 2019 during the Nagpur T20I against Bangladesh. In that game, the right-arm pacer also became the first Indian bowler to claim a T20I hat-trick. Later, he maintained that excellent form in domestic cricket.

However, the pacer has lost his momentum due to his absence from the game since last December as he had to battle with his fitness issue.

In the IPL 2020, Chahar has to make a new start for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) where he has to prove his form as a bowler. He has taken 33 wickets in 34 IPL matches. In the IPL 2019, he finished as the third most wicket-taker in that tournament by picking up 22 wickets in 17 games.
