Sourav Ganguly (C)

Apart from being a top-class batsman, Sourav Ganguly is famous for his captaincy which hugely changed the picture of Indian cricket. Though India lost that final, captain Sourav Ganguly’s importance to the team can’t be decreased anyway. The left-handed batsman scored 24 runs in that final.
After that tournament, Ganguly initially had a good time as a captain due to managing great team success. But his tough period started since the entrance of Greg Chappell as the Head Coach of the national team. First, he lost the captaincy, then he was dropped from the team.
However, Ganguly always fought positively and returned strongly to the national team. While his international career ended in 2008, Ganguly played his last IPL match in 2012.
After retiring from the cricket, Ganguly has experienced with commentary, TV quiz show (Dadagiri Unlimited), administration etc. At present, Ganguly is the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
