Coming to bat at the no.4 position in the final, Mohammad Kaif failed to open his account. That entire tournament was not much shining for him with the bat.
However, Kaif will always be remembered as an extraordinary fielder who changed the fielding conception in Indian cricket.
Kaif failed to stretch his international career for the long period as his last international match was in 2006. Due to his struggling performances, Kaif’s international career not ran for long.
While he last played an IPL match in 2012 edition, Kaif was active in domestic cricket till late 2017. The winning captain of ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2000 retired from all formats of cricket in July 2018.
