In the absence of regular wicketkeepers, Rahul Dravid was handling the wicketkeeper role in ODI format. Dravid was the second most run-scorer in that innings as the right-handed batsman scored 47 runs.

Dravid continued his ODI wicketkeeping role till November 2004, but MS Dhoni’s introduction in international cricket helped Dravid to focus only his batting and fielding. Apart from becoming a legendary cricketer, Dravid also became a captain.

Despite many controversies under his captaincy, Dravid tried hard to create success for the national team. But under his captaincy, India were shockingly eliminated from the Group Stages in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. His captaincy did not last long, but he successfully stretched his international career till 2012.

After finishing his cricket career in late 2013, Dravid has focused on the coaching career. Soon, he became a successful coach for India A and India U19. Under his coaching, India U19 won the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2018. At present, Dravid is the Director of Cricket Operations at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
