Dinesh Mongia
While Dinesh Mongia was a regular face in the Indian cricket team at that time, the left-handed batsman scored 12 runs in the final.
After that tournament, he faced many ups and downs due to the weak performances. While he played the only T20I for India during India’s first-ever T20I match (in 2006), Mongia stretched his ODI career till 2007. However, he never played a Test match for India.
In 2007, Mongia joined in the now-defunct Indian Cricket League (ICL), which was a rebel tournament, and it unofficially ended his professional career. He also acted in a Bollywood movie, named “Kabab Me Haddi”.
While he took some coaching assignments, he was also a selector of Punjab Cricket Association (PCA).
