Rajasthan Royals (RR) is currently under pressure in the ongoing IPL 2019. They are currently in the seventh position with just four points as they have won only two matches out of eight games. The pink side has struggled hugely to maintain their performances in the ongoing season.

On this Saturday (20th April) afternoon, the host side RR will face Mumbai Indians (MI) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur). Just one week before this match (13th April), they met for the first time this season at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai) where the Rajasthan franchise secured a four-wicket victory (with three balls to go). They are looking for the same result this weekend.

After some struggling performances in the ongoing season as a middle-order batsman, Rahul Tripathi opened in the last match and scored 50 runs. The right-handed batsman is likely to open for RR in the upcoming games. In IPL 2019, he has scored 141 runs in eight matches with an average of 23.50.

Jos Buttler

The opening batsman Jos Buttler is the leading run-scorer for his team in the ongoing season. After playing eight matches in the ongoing IPL season, the right-handed batsman has scored 311 runs with an average of 38.87. He has already scored three half-centuries in this IPL season.

 

Sanju Samson

The 24-year-old Sanju Samson was the first centurion in the ongoing IPL season. However, he has failed to play another big inning in this season. In IPL 2019, the right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman has scored 204 runs in six matches (average 40.80).

Steven Smith

The Australian cricketer Steven Smith hasn’t impressed much in the ongoing IPL season. On his IPL return, the right-handed batsman has scored 186 runs in six innings with an average of 37.20, including one half-century. Though he was dropped in the last match, his experience is vital for RR in the present moment.

 

Ajinkya Rahane (c)

The RR captain Ajinkya Rahane has failed to play the good innings consistently in the ongoing IPL season. Though he scored 70 runs in one match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Hyderabad in last month, the right-hand batsman has scored 201 runs in eight matches (average 25.12) in the ongoing IPL season.

 

Ashton Turner

The Australian cricketer Ashton Turner made his IPL debut during RR’s last match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Though he scored a golden duck in that match, the right-handed batsman is a powerful middle-order batsman.

 

Stuart Binny

The Indian all-rounder has got minimal opportunities in this IPL season. Though RR suffered a 12-run defeat in the last match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), the right-handed batsman impressed with his powerful batting in the late moment. In that match, he remained not out on 33 runs off just 11 balls (2 fours and 3 sixes).

Jofra Archer

The pace bowling all-rounder Jofra Archer is the leading wicket-taker for his team in the ongoing IPL season. The right-arm pacer has bagged ten wickets in this season with an average of 21.00 and an economy rate of 6.77.

The left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat hasn’t proved his value in the ongoing season yet. He is very inconsistent with the ball in hand as he has taken five wickets in six matches with an average of 46.20 (economy rate 11.00).

Dhawal Kulkarni
