Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has faced an untimely injury when Kedar Jadhav has sustained a left shoulder injury during the final group match of the season against King XI Punjab (KXIP). Well, Jadhav has had problematic run owing to the IPL and his fair share of injuries. Overall, the World Cup-bound Jadhav had a poor run with the bat, overall. Thus, his World Cup fate is hanging by a thin thread. Well, ahead of that CSK vs MI’s qualifier 1st will witness a replace. Any wild guess that who it could be or whom it should be?
Anyway, the unfortunate incident happened when the all-rounder tried his best to stop an overthrow during KXIP’s innings. But, Jadhav felt awkwardly on the ground before writhing in pain. Thus, he left the field after the culmination of 14th over when Punjab were chasing the target of 171. The hosts led by Ravichandran Ashwin has chased down the target convincingly in 18 overs with six wickets in hand.

Now, the situation has worsened for the CSK camp as somewhat Jadhav’s inclusion has often favoured the team’s cause. With him being ruled out for the remainder of the IPL, CSK has a lot to ponder over in the impending crucial games.
However, in this season Jadhav has looked dismal with the bat. He could amass 162 runs in 12 innings at an unhealthy average of 18. He further managed to score at the strike-rate of 95.86.
Of late, Jadhav has been struggling which saw him struggling to maintain his body.
Interestingly, with viable options available, skipper MS Dhoni didn’t find any need to make use of Jadhav as a bowling option.
So, given to the unusual action of Jadhav, things would have been altogether different he was allowed to bowl during the ongoing IPL 2019 edition.
Marred by injuries:

Jadhav missed out the entire season in 2018 after nursing a hamstring tear. He managed to play a solitary match.
In that particular game, Jadhav managed to score run-a-ball 24*. Since 2010, Jadhav has featured in 79 matches to accumulate 1079 runs at an average of 22.95. Also, he has four half-centuries to his name.
Beyond the like-for-like replacement, CSK would look at their senior campaigner Murali Vijay. However, he has a more chance to break into the playing XI with Dhruv Shorey inexperienced in such case.
Besides, they don’t want to tinker with the side to effect the combination of the batting order.
Vijay will bring the wealth of experience in the line-up. Known for his starts, CSK would be keen to see Vijay stepping up at the right moment. He is highly-likely expected to make it to the line-up
So far, the right-handed local lad Vijay has amassed 38 in the only match he has had played.
