IPL 2019: Dwayne Bravo In Doubt For CSK’s Home Tie Against Kings XI Punjab

Chennai Super Kings could miss out on the services of the star-all rounder Dwayne Bravo when they take on Kings XI Punjab in their home fixture on Saturday.

CSK skipper MS Dhoni had confirmed that Bravo is suffering from a hamstring injury.
Later, K.S. Viswanathan, CEO of CSK, gave an update on it and said that the results of his scans will be out on Friday.

“Bravo will undergo scans and the results will be known only by Friday evening. Only then we will have a clear picture about his injury,” he said.

Bravo had suffered the injury during CSK’s previous match against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium.

He also seemed to be struggling during the match and now could miss out on the action.
In his absence, CSK’s new recruit Scott Kuggeleijn seems to be a likely replacement for him.

Since the team does not have the services of David Willey, chances of the Kiwi playing the match are likely.

If included in playing XI, he will be a like-to-like replacement for Bravo.

Other than Bravo, there seems to be no injury concern for the team but still, there can be few chances in the side.

Harbhajan Singh might be given another go in Chennai, the venue where he scalped three wickets in the opening game of the season.

Faf du Plessis could also be included in the playing XI, considering Ambati Rayudu’s struggles at the top of the order.

Chennai Super Kings are currently placed at a third position in the points table with three wins in four matches.

They were at the top despite losing to Mumbai Indians but Sunrisers Hyderabad leapfrogged them with a win over Delhi Capitals yesterday.

The MS Dhoni-led side would have retained its position had it defeated Mumbai Indians.

The visitors lost their first game of IPL to Rohit Sharma and co on Wednesday.

CSK seemed to be controlling the match but Hardik Pandya made the difference.

In the end, his aggressive show with the bat saw the home side scoring 45 runs in the last two overs.

With the ball, he scalped three wickets in four overs for 20 runs, restricting CSK to 133. He supported Lasith Malinga quite well, who led the pace attack with three-fer in his four overs.
