IPL 2019 Final: MI vs CSK – Twitterati in Awe of Jasprit Bumrah for Calming Quinton de Kock

Amid the battle of nerves in the IPL 2019 final between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday night, Jasprit Bumrah’s heartwarming gesture for his teammate Quinton de Kock has become the talk of the town. In the MI vs CSK last-ball thriller, Bumrah, who brings in the influence has won the hearts for his brilliant sportsmanship act in the crunch moments of the game.

Earlier, table-topper Indians skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. The blue brigade had put up a below-par target of 150 runs. However, in response, Chennai got off to a decent start, but they found themselves in hot waters while losing wickets at the crucial juncture of the game.

Evidently, the flurry of wickets had put pressure on the Super Kings before they lost the game by a mere run when Lasith Malinga trapped Shardul Thakur in front of the wickets as CSK required two off the last ball. Thus, Indians went to lift their fourth title of the IPL since 2013.

Interestingly, there were the moments of anguish and joy during the recently-held grand-finale of the heavyweights as Indians yet again made things fall in their way against 2018 champions led by MS Dhoni.

How it unfolded during the finale:

Bumrah, who bowled his heart out during the epic finale conceded just 14 runs off his four overs. He went on to claim the wickets of Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo.

Bumrah bowled 19th over of the game when CSK required 18 runs. He went on to bag an all-important wicket of Bravo when de Kock claimed a regulation catch on the very second ball of the penultimate over. Also, he conceded just four runs in the next three balls before Ravindra Jadeja failed to make most of the cut short while facing a back of the length delivery.

Besides, to everyone’s consternation, de Kock has failed to judge the ball. Eventually, it burst through his gloves for four byes. Thus, CSK required nine off six balls.

However, Bumrah went up to the gloveman while beaming a smile only to have a few words. The prominent bowler then wrapped his arms around when there was the rush of adrenaline.

Here’s how Twitter users reacted as Bumrah had a brief conversation with De Kock:
