Kings XI Punjab owner Preity Zinta has put her weight behind his team’s opener, KL Rahul. The stylish batsman had to face the wrath for his crasser comments on Koffee with Karan, which had eventually led to his suspension from the India National Cricket Team. However, Zinta who is known to back her players has said KL Rahul is very sweet and he is respectful towards the women.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul was severely criticised for his comments on the talk show. Rahul was immature in his statements and had to pay the price. In fact, Rahul hasn’t been the best of forms in the recent past and his comments added salt to the injury on his career.

Rahul will learn from his mistakes.

Zinta believes that Rahul can learn from his mistakes and the controversy could be a blessing in disguise.

“It is so good to see Rahul back in form. He is a very very nice guy. What happened is in the past. I just feel the bad the way the whole thing turned out but you live and learn,” Zinta told PTI.

“Actually, he is very sweet and respectful with women, so I don’t know the way it all came out. As I said, these are teachable moments.”

After the controversy, KL Rahul got to play for the India A under the tutelage of Rahul Dravid, who helped him get his confidence back. Rahul was able to score two knocks of fifty, which must have added confidence to his bag. Rahul had scored a fine knock of 71 runs against Mumbai Indians.

Meanwhile, Preity Zinta believes that these incidents will help a youngster in correcting his mistakes.

“Yes, we do have those conversations, we have been there and done that. These are young guys and they will live and learn with time. Unless you make a mistake or falter, you will never learn,” she said.

On the other hand, the actress has revealed that Chris Gayle is her all-time favourite. Gayle has been the huge batsman in the T20 format and he is the leading run-getter in the version. However, Gayle was surprisingly dropped from the playing XI in the last match.

Gayle is a big player.

“My all-time favourite is Chris Gayle. He is unbelievable. He is a true superstar, in terms of how he comes across, in terms of how he plays, he how he is with the youngsters, he is so humble, he is always on time, he is just unbelievable and he is so much fun at the same time.”

Kings XI Punjab will play their next match against Chennai Super Kings on 6th April at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
