IPL 2019, Match 34: Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians – Match Prediction, Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium

We’re already into the second half-of-the-tournament. The IPL 2019 has sprung a surprise or so, so far. The Delhi Capitals (DC) went on to change their fortunes following a major overhauling. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians (MI) had banked on their experience by continuing their dominance despite hiccups in between. Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians is more than a match at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, New Delhi, as we’ve got you covered for the match prediction.

Currently, Capitals are placed second on the IPL points table with five wins in eight matches. Besides, Indians have also won five to clinch 10 points. It’s the net run-rate which differentiates both teams on the second and third spot respectively.

For hosts, skipper Shreyas Iyer has led from the front by playing some good knock. The speedster Kagiso Rabada has bagged most wickets to bag the Purple Cap ahead of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) game.

Iyer has managed the 10th spot in the most run-getters. In eight innings, he has accumulated 266 runs at an average of 33.25.

In eight matches, Rabada has bagged eight wickets.

For Indians, Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga have a major role to play. The cameos from batsmen have paid rich dividends for Rohit Sharma-led side.

Predicted Playing XI:

Delhi Capitals:

Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Colin Munro, Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Chris Morris, Axar Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Keemo Paul, Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra,

Mumbai Indians:

Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Kieron Pollard, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya Ishan Kishan, Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah, Jason Behrendorff and Rahul Chahar

Weather Forecast:

It’s going to be much relief for the players. The temperature will be around 29-degree centigrade. The humidity will read 51 per cent before the kick-off of the late evening game in Delhi.’

Also, the wind will be between 09-15 kph. Overall, it’s going to be a perfect set-up for the enticing clash.

Pitch Condition:

The Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium is full of runs. Even though the pitch is on a slower side, the short boundary ropes could come into the play.

Interestingly, both teams boast about the big-hitters in the line-up. It’s the time for raining sixes at the country’s capital.

Match Prediction:

No doubt Capitals have played some outstanding brand of cricket. The youngsters have risen to the occasion to shoulder the responsibility. But it doesn’t mean it’s going to be a cakewalk for them.

Despite playing at home, Capitals could face heat from Indians. The visitors had made a strong comeback before settling for a third spot owing to the IPL points table.

For us, Indians are not actually the favourites for the game. But they have enough in their ranks to defeat high-flying hosts in their own den.

The team winning the toss would decide to field first. The team batting first could post anything between 175-185. It’s going to be a thriller of a contest while considering both the teams on a paper.
