Finally, after a long time, there came a day, where we came across the headlines quoting ”RCB bowlers on a Fire”. They bowled with an intent on the other night facing Chennai Super Kings at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. It was Dale Steyn, who made a massive impact on the game to see Virat Kohli-led side cross the victory line.
The first thirty minutes of the CSK innings completely goes in favour of the RCB bowlers. Dale Steyn, a mid-innings recruit, showcased his talent for the team with his fantastic display of fast bowling. Firstly, he bowled a stunning outswinger to get the edge of Watson, which was nicely grabbed by Stoinis.
And, then, it was the unplayable inswinging yorker to Suresh Raina, which castled his stumps and kept RCB on top of the game. The troubles further stretched when Umesh Yadav came into his own to dismiss Faf du Plessis and Kedar Jadhav thus helping RCB completely take the control of the game.
Feels amazing to celebrate with Dale Steyn – Virat Kohli
Well, coming back to the topic, after the dismissal of Suresh Raina, the aggressive-filled Dale Steyn hugged Virat Kohli in joy, which was an exact match to the posture of 10 years back when Steyn and Virat Kohli celebrated a wicket in a similar manner.
The picture went viral in social media during the course of the match. However, somehow, it reached to the superstars of the game, who shared their thoughts on it after the conclusion of the match presentation.
“There is a little thing that came out on social media recently the ‘Ten-year challenge.’ I want everyone to have a look at this me and Dale Steyn on the left in 2010 and me and Dale Steyn on the left in 2019. Dale Steyn looks the same but on the left, you can see it’s a different human being on the left and on the right, it’s a different one,” Kohli said.

”Feels amazing to celebrate with this man (Steyn) after ten years and we would never have thought after parting ways in 2010 that we will be doing the same thing at Chinnaswamy all over again,” said Kohli.
Good memories, some nostalgic – Dale Steyn
Meanwhile, Dale Steyn added that the picture did make him feel nostalgic and that he was in awe of the transformation Kohli as undergone as a player.
“That photo you are right, brings back some good memories, some nostalgic. It just shows how well you have done, this man (referring to Kohli) has gone on to take the world by a storm. One of the best players if not the best batsmen in the world and I was lucky enough to watch him, in the beginning, meeting him as an 18-year-old and the man that stands in front of me now is an Indian captain so it’s an honour,” he said.
All in all, it has been a brilliant addition for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The experienced character in the team is always a blessing, as he can operate things from the front.
