Chennai Super Kings opening batsman Faf du Plessis is known for his acrobatic efforts in the field. Faf du Plessis was once again in action in the Qualifier two contest against Delhi Capitals. It was the 19th over of the match when Amit Mishra smashed the ball towards the long-on region against Deepak Chahar.
Faf du Plessis made good ground and also caught the ball. However, the diving momentum was always taking him over the ropes. Thus, the talisman had the presence of mind to flick the ball back into play and saved four runs for his team as Mishra ran two runs.
Faf du Plessis is one of the best fielders in the game.
In fact, we have seen in the past that he has plucked some spectacular catches. The South African skipper had also caught a brilliant catch against Kolkata Knight Riders when he came running in from the deep to dismiss Robin Uthappa. Furthermore, he had also caught a relay catch with Dhruv Shorey.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals have scored 147 runs after Chennai Super Kings skipper won the toss and elected to bowl first. Delhi Capitals could not get off to a good start as they lost the wicket of Prithvi Shaw. Deepak Chahar was able to plumb the youngster in front of the wickets.
Subsequently, Delhi Capitals kept losing wickets at regular intervals and they could never get the momentum in their innings. Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant top-scored for the team as the southpaw batsman scored 38 runs from 25 balls with the help of two fours and one six.
Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar, Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh and Ravindra Jadeja scalped two wickets each whereas Imran Tahir took one wicket.
On the other hand, Faf du Plessis has also provided the good start to his team as he is currently batting unbeaten on 38 runs from 29 balls. CSK need 148 runs to book their final berth against Mumbai Indians.
