ToggleIn the 33rd match of the IPL 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Dubai).
Rajasthan Royals captain Steven Smith decided to bat first after winning the coin toss. At the end of the first innings, Rajasthan Royals scored 177/6 in 20 overs. In reply, RCB chased down that target in 19.4 overs after losing three wickets.

Opener Aaron Finch lost his wicket in the fourth over after scoring 14 runs. However, another opener Devdutt Padikkal and captain Virat Kohli handled the early situation very well and built up a solid base in that innings through the 79 runs partnership for the second wicket.
But then, Padikkal and Kohli lost their wickets on back-to-back deliveries. While Padikkal scored 35 runs off 37 balls, Kohli scored 43 runs off 32 balls (only four and 2 sixes).
Then AB de Villiers and Gurkeerat Singh Mann helped RCB to chase the target safely. While they had the required run-rate over 10 at the beginning of their partnership, it was rising up quickly. However, De Villiers handled the situation very well with his firing batting as he remained not out on 55 runs off just 22 balls (only four and 6 sixes). Gurkeerat provided the crucial help to De Villiers as he was not out on 19 runs off 17 balls.

Rajasthan Royals once again came with the new opening combination as Ben Stokes and Robin Uthappa started their innings in this match. That partnership provided a positive start with the 50 runs partnership in the mandatory powerplay before Stokes was dismissed by Chris Morris for 15 runs.
RCB leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal came to bowl his first over of the match during 8th over of that innings. Though Uthappa welcomed him with a sixer on the very first ball, Chahal then dismissed both Uthappa and Sanju Samson on the back-to-back 4th and 5th balls of that over. Opener Uthappa scored 41 runs off just 22 balls (7 fours and only six).
Then captain Steven Smith and Jos Buttler controlled that innings and built up the crucial 58 runs partnership for the fourth wicket. In the 16th over of that innings, Morris broke that partnership after dismissing Buttler for 24 runs.
However, skipper Smith finally returned to his form as he scored a 30-ball fifty. In the final over, Smith was caught out at the sweeper cover after scoring crucial 57 runs off 36 balls (6 fours and only six). Rahul Tewatia remained not out on 19 runs off 11 balls (only four and only six).
Among the RCB bowlers, only the pacer Chris Morris and leggie Yuzvendra Chahal managed to pick up the wickets. While Morris finished with the bowling figures of 4-0-26-4, Chahal had the bowling figures of 4-0-34-2.
