ToggleIn the 44th match of the IPL 2020, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) managed to claim a great victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Dubai).
After winning the toss, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli decided to bat first. However, they managed to score 145/6 at the end of the first 20 overs. In reply, CSK chased down that target in 18.4 overs after losing only two wickets as they won the match by 8 wickets.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) innings
CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis provided a strong start with the 46 runs partnership. However, in the sixth over of that innings, Chris Morris broke that partnership as Du Plessis lost his wicket after scoring 25 runs off 13 balls (2 fours and 2 sixes).
But the momentum was maintained by Gaikwad and Ambati Rayudu as they set up the strong second-wicket partnership. They built up the 67 runs partnership for the second wicket. In the 14th over, Yuzvendra Chahal bowled Rayudu for 39 runs off 27 balls (3 fours and 2 sixes), but RCB didn’t manage to create any further pressure in that successful chase for CSK. In that same over of Rayudu’s dismissal, Gaikwad completed his maiden IPL fifty in 42 balls.
Gaikwad and skipper MS Dhoni comfortably led the team to successfully chase the target. Dhoni remained not out on 19 runs off 21 balls (3 fours). Meanwhile, Gaikwad finished the game with a sixer as he scored 65 not out off 51 balls (4 fours and 3 sixes).

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) innings
After the 31-run opening partnership, RCB opener Aaron Finch (15) was dismissed by Sam Curran in the 4th over. On the first ball after the completion of the mandatory powerplay, Mitchell Santner dismissed another RCB opener Devdutt Padikkal (22), majorly thanks to Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad brilliant fielding partnership at the boundary side.
Captain Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers then built up the solid partnership for the third wicket. They managed to put the 82 runs partnership for that third wicket. During that partnership, Kohli also completed his 200 IPL sixes. Finally, the pacer Deepak Chahar broke that partnership in the 18th over after taking the wicket of De Villiers, who scored 39 runs off 36 balls (4 fours).
Soon after that wicket, skipper Kohli reached his 50 runs mark in 42 balls. Sam Curran dismissed Kohli in the 19th over while the RCB skipper managed to score 50 off 43 balls (only four and only six).
Sam Curran bowled excellently in that innings as he had the bowling figures of 3-0-19-3. While Deepak Chahar (2/31) got two wickets, Mitchell Santner (1/23) also picked up one wicket.
