The 28-year-old Indian cricketer KL Rahul recently donated his cricket bat, jerseys, helmet, gloves and pads which were auctioned and raised around INR 8 lakhs for the needy children. During that auction, his last Cricket World Cup bat got the highest offer.

On last 18th April, during his 28th birthday, KL Rahul announced to donate his some cricket kits for auction to raise funds for the vulnerable children. He and his brand Gully decided to collaborate with the Bharat Army in this donation process while the funds will go towards the Aware Foundation.

The Aware Foundation’s mission is “to give disadvantaged and vulnerable children in India the right to education”.

Rahul donated his Test, ODI and T20I jerseys, helmet, pads, gloves and a bat that he used during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. In the ICC CWC 2019 in England and Wales, Rahul played an important role for his national team, especially as an opener after Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out from the early stage of that tournament.

Rahul was the third most run-scorer for the Indian team in that tournament as the right-handed batsman scored 361 runs with an average of 45.12. Apart from scoring two half-centuries, Rahul also hit a century (111) in that tournament during the league stage match against Sri Lanka.

KL Rahul made his international cricket debut in December 2014. He has played 36 Tests, 32 ODIs and 42 T20Is where the right-handed batsman has scored 2006 runs (average 34.58), 1239 runs (average 47.65) and 1461 runs (average 45.65) respectively. Rahul is currently the no.2-ranked T20I batsman.

Most recently, Rahul has also played the wicket-keeper role for the Indian limited-overs teams. Once again, he has impressed with his wicket-keeping performances.
