ToggleFormer South African all-rounder Lance Klusener believes that the Indian pace-bowling all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube have the abilities to become match-winners by improving their skills.
Indian national cricket team is now giving special importance to the pace-bowling all-rounders as the team is introducing and building some talented players in this spot. After Hardik Pandya has grown up impressively, Shivam Dube has now entered to this fight.
The 26-year-old Hardik Pandya made his international debut in January 2016. With the time progress, the all-rounder has impressed with his consistent performances. If he remains fit, he is now India’s no.1 choice for the pace-bowling all-rounder spot. He has already faced some challenging situations and showed his true calibre in those moments.
Hardik Pandya has played 11 Tests, 54 ODIs and 40 T20Is where the right-handed batsman has scored 1,799 international runs (532 Test runs, 957 ODI runs and 310 runs) and the right-arm medium-fast bowler has taken 109 international wickets (17 Test wickets, 54 ODI wickets and 38 T20I wickets).
Just encourage Hardik Pandya to have an open mind: Lance Klusener
Lance Klusener believes that Hardik Pandya can make a difference for the team if he slightly increases his pace. The former Proteas all-rounder feels that the team only needs to encourage Pandya to have an open mind.
Klusener told the Federal, “I think if he can bowl a bit quicker and can add another 5-10 kmph on that bowling, that would make a difference. His batting has come on leaps and bounds and I think he is definitely having a great leadership in the Indian team. Just encourage him to have an open mind. Rather than learn from his own mistakes, have him learn from the mistakes of others. Just grab all the knowledge and use what he can use and split up what he can’t.”
Lance Klusener also spoke about Shivam Dube
In the absence of Hardik Pandya, the 26-year-old Shivam Dube has recently earned the opportunity in the national team. He has impressed with his cricketing skills in limited opportunities but needs to prove his consistency.
After making the international debut in last November, Shivam Dube has played only ODI and six T20Is. While the left-handed batsman has scored nine ODI runs and 64 T20Is runs, the right-arm medium bowler has scalped three T20I wickets.
Lance Klusener has claimed that Shivam Dube is in the learning process and has got a lot of work to do.
Klusener said, “Shivam is learning his trade; definitely showing signs of being that all-rounder. It is hard to get a long run in the Indian team if you are not performing. So, he has got a lot of work to do. He has got some great heads around him for inputs and he is definitely someone India will be looking to. And if he can rise to that occasion and deliver with the bat and the ball, then he is definitely someone can be classified as an all-rounder.”
