In the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Indians and foreigners are equally important for each of the franchise. Like the Indian bowlers, Indian batsmen also play very important roles for their franchise.

We may not see many Indian batsmen win the Orange Cap or Most Valuable Player award yet, we can always see at least one Indian among the top three in the most run-scorer table of the end of any IPL season.

Here we are talking about the most run-scorer among the Indians in every IPL season

IPL 2008: Gautam Gambhir (Delhi Daredevils) – 534 runs

It was the inaugural edition of the IPL and Australian cricketer Shaun Marsh (Kings XI Punjab) won the Orange Cap for scoring 616 runs in 11 matches. Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who was serving for the Delhi Daredevils (DD) in that edition, finished as the second most run-scorer with 534 runs in 14 matches with an average 41.07 and strike-rate of 140.89. The left-handed batsman hit five half-centuries in that tournament, including his best score 86 runs.
