Former Indian cricketer and present bowling coach of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Lakshmipathy Balaji, has recently claimed that their captain MS Dhoni was focused on getting ready for the IPL 2020.
Since the semi-final defeat in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against New Zealand, MS Dhoni hasn’t played a cricket match yet. His future to serve the national team hasn’t been clarified, and it has raised huge speculations. While some believe that Dhoni has already played his last game for India, some also feel that Dhoni will decide the future of his international career after the IPL 2020.

However, it has been confirmed that Dhoni will lead his team CSK in the IPL 2020 as he started his practice with the team. IPL 2020 was initially scheduled to be held from 29th March to 24th May 2020. But the novel COVID-19 or coronavirus has hit the IPL 2020 as it has been postponed and there is no confirmation about its future. In the present uncertainty situation over the IPL 2020, Dhoni’s returning possibility to the national team seems dull.
MS Dhoni trained like the way he did last year or 2 years ago: Lakshmipathy Balaji

Lakshmipathy Balaji has recently clarified that Dhoni was serious about leading the CSK in the IPL 2020 just like the last two seasons. Balaji claimed that Dhoni focused on training to prepare for the IPL 2020.

Balaji told India Today, “Dhoni was looking good, fit. He focused on training just like he always does and was as normal as he has always been. He trained like the way he did last year or 2 years ago. There is nothing that changes when it comes to his preparation. His routine, his mindset, everything is the same.
“Dhoni was focussed on getting ready for the IPL. He is that kind of a person who always takes it one moment at a time.”
Like the other players, Dhoni is now spending his time with the family in the present lockdown period in India.
Many believe that if Dhoni performs well in the IPL 2020, he can get an opportunity to represent the national team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020. But as the IPL 2020 is totally doubtful, his international cricket future is not much bright.
