After India completed a 5-0 whitewash against New Zealand in the T20I series, many wrote off Kiwis in the other two formats (ODIs and Tests). But the hosts came up with a different strategy and channelised the aggression in the right path and came out all guns blazing.

In what was a remarkable comeback by Kane Williamson-led team, they inflicted whitewash on India in ODIs and Tests by 3-0 and 2-0 respectively.

Well, this was the first time in more than 30 years that Team India have been whitewashed in a bilateral ODI series after the 5-0 humiliating series defeat at the hands of the mighty West Indies in the year 1989.

We don’t want to consider ‘Kiwis’ as ‘bogey’ team: Virat Kohli

New Zealand got the better of India by seven wickets at Hadley Oval, Christchurch and in the process, they won the Test series. After losing the two-match Test series, India captain Virat Kohli on Monday said that he does not consider the Kiwis as a ‘bogey team’.

“Disappointed as to how we played in the Test series. We were completely outplayed in this series, we did not play the brand of cricket we usually do. We need to address the issues straight up and not be in denial. We have a lot of cricket away from home this year, we would want to correct our mistakes. We were not brave in moments,” Indian captain Kohli Kohli told the media reporters at the press conference after the second Test in Christchurch.

New Zealand ended India’s 7-match unbeaten streak by winning back-to-back Tests with relative ease, ending the first Test inside four days and the third Test inside three days.

New Zealand have gained points from the recently-concluded Test series and are placed third in the ICC Test championship points table with 180 points. On the other hand, India atop the table with 360 points.
