Five Pacers Who Are First-Choice Bowlers In Every Format
Like the batsmen and fielders, bowlers also play significant roles in a cricket match. A disciplined bowler is a massive asset for a team who can be reliable even when the entire batting line-up fails to perform. In bowling, pacers and spinners both play significant roles for the team.
A disciplined fast bowler can inspire the entire bowling unit. While the pace bowling requires huge efforts, many pacers suffer fitness issues for several times. As now the number of cricket matches is rising in all the three formats, many pacers are primarily focusing on any specific format, rather across formats.
However, some pacers can always be the first-choice bowlers in every format. Here are the top five bowlers in this list.
Barbados-born England pacer, Jofra Archer, became famous even before his international debut. Due to performing impressively in domestic cricket and various global T20 leagues, Archer earned huge faith in his early cricket career. The young pacer Archer’s international debut delayed due to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) regulations in eligibility criteria.
Archer made his international debut just before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Since then, the right-arm pacer has played seven Tests, 14 ODIs and only T20I where he has picked up 30, 23 and two wickets respectively. While he has already impressed in the Test and ODI formats, he can also achieve a big success in T20I cricket as he has already taken 121 wickets in 95 T20 matches.
Archer played an important role for England winning the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 trophy which was also their first-ever CWC trophy. He finished that tournament as a leading wicket-taker for England and joint third most wicket-taker in overall (20 wickets). Later, in the Ashes 2019, Archer scared the Aussie batting line-up with his furious pace bowling. Archer finished as the second most wicket-taker for England (22 wickets) in the Ashes 2019. In his very early international career, Archer has shown his impressive bowling quality for every format.
